For over 45 years, the JPC Group has been delivering quality engineering, construction and demolition services. Today the company offers services in civil/municipal, electrical, environmental, mechanical, structural, transportation, and water/wastewater engineering as well as information management, construction and materials inspection and testing, site design/landscape architecture, and surveying.
JPC Group purchased a 10 user mJobTime system in December of 2005. As with most companies, their goal was to use the application in conjunction with their accounting system to achieve a significant time savings. The company purchased several PDAs on which mJobTime was installed. Almost from day one, the system worked just as planned. Because mJobTime is so easy to use in the field, JPC employees were able to begin effectively using mJobTime right away. As a result, in March of 2006, the company purchased an additional 15 users.
Later in 2006, the company switched their accounting/job costing system. Initially they were worried that they would not be able to use mJobTime with the new accounting software, but were soon relieved out that mJobTime works with practically any popular accounting
package. Once they made the transition to the new software, the mJobTime technicalstaff assisted JPC in setting up a new template,and downloading the necessary employee and job information from Timberline while retaining the historical time data from the previous accounting system.
According to Systems Manager, Ken Rizzo, JPC has really benefited from the streamlined processes in the office. “With over 200 employees and 75 to 100 pieces of heavy equipment to bill and cost to multiple jobs in our accounting system, mJobTime has been an incredible time saver.”
mJobTime does more than save time and money, it also helps companies stay on top of their projects. According to Rizzo, mJobTime has had a dramatic impact on project management for JPC. “Our guys input EVERYTHING into mJobTime, including deliveries, ticket numbers, yards of concrete, even which subs are on the project. This information is essential for reporting to the owners of the project.”
