mJobTime FAQ's

Q: Why should I consider upgrading my time tracking system?

A:  For most businesses, payroll is the largest expense. It makes sense that time tracking would be an ideal place to start automating and streamlining processes.  Tracking and controlling time leads to immediate cost reductions and tangible gains in productivity. In addition to  improved productivity, the key benefits of an mobile time and attendance system are reduced payroll errors, reduced payroll inflation due to improper rounding and buddy punching, lower overtime costs, and the elimination of the costs of paper time sheets as well as the associated storage costs.

Q: My field workers are not computer savvy. Will they be able to use mJobTime effectively?

A: Yes. We’ve designed mJobTime with the field worker in mind. We use uncluttered screens with large buttons and clear, simple functions. We also use common default values such as employee, job, and cost code for fast, accurate recording of jobsite information.

Q: How is labor time entered into mJobTime?

A: We offer many different methods of time entry that you can tailor to your jobsite needs. For pda users, our "QuickTime" function allows real-time clock-in/clock-out functionality for the most accurate recording of employee time. “Quick Time” can be operated manually or, on some devices, information can be scanned in. We realize that, in some cases, foremen prefer to record their crew's time after-the-fact, so our "Employee Time" function allows you to enter start and stop time manually or just enter the number of hours worked. Both methods allow you to specify job, phase, cost code, and pay type. For desktop, laptop, tablet, and netbook users, we also provide an additional feature that allows users to enter records by job, employee, or equipment for an entire week on a single screen.

Q: What other types of jobsite information will mJobTime help me track?

A: mJobTime's main mission is to track labor time, but we realize that there are other important areas of responsibility that jobsite foremen must deal with. mJobTime allows our users to record Equipment Time for billing and/or maintenance purposes. Our Daily Log function is a great management tool and provides an excellent way to lower your exposure to liability by providing important documentation of jobsite activities. This feature also provides our users with a separate entry screen to record, track, and edit material quantities used on jobs.
